Infertility: Most Common Factors

Many couple sadly struggle with trouble getting pregnant and so this means that they find it extremely difficult to have a child to call their own. To make problems even more frustrating, the sad truth of the matter is that infertility is a problem that can and will afflict both male and female partners, making it doubly difficult to resolve the issues.

There are a number of recognized factors that can cause infertility problems in women including diseases which specifically afflict the ovaries. Infertility problems for men are typically caused by complications of the sperm, such as impoverished sperm count and defective sperm.

Treatment: the Options Available

There are a number of treatment options available, however they are not always the best suited for people because they have a number of problems associated with them including the likes of potentially hazardous side effects as well as being extremely costly indeed.

A typical dilemma which is encountered whenever people undergo these traditional forms of therapy is that they have to additional treatment simply to neutralize and alleviate the side effects already caused! IVF or In Vitro Fertilization to give its full moniker is widely accepted as one of the most effective means of resolving infertility in women.

IVF: The Last Resort

IVF therapy is typically recommended as a means of last resort, and where all other methods of conventional therapy have failed to create any tangible results for the women. The treatment is fairly straightforward and it will involve the removal of the egg (or ova) from the ovaries of the female and the sperm is then introduced to the ova in carefully regulated conditions so as to ensure that the fertilization process does indeed take place properly and safely.

The only difference during the IVF process is that the doctor will assume the role of the body, i.e. it is the scientist who will choose the best sperm rather than the body doing so. It is vital that he does so; otherwise this can have a significantly detrimental impact on the health of the child.

Some alternative techniques with a holistic approach are fast becoming popular in order to cure the problem of infertility. These techniques are all the more preferred by people as these have less or no side effects at all.
